Trade statistics

The statistics stated are taken from the Norwegian Pharmacy Association’s trade statistics. These statistics record all sales through the pharmacies’ computerised system FarmaPro, as reported by over 99% of the country’s pharmacies.

These statistics are a step closer to the end user than statistics based on wholesalers’ sales to pharmacies. This means that they contain certain information that is not otherwise easily available in Norway. The statistics provide a number of key figures for the industry, not just relating to the sale of prescription medicines. All reported turnover figures reflect genuine sales prices at pharmacies, including VAT at the point of sale.
